What's in a Name?
Diví is the Catalan (a language spoken in Spain) word for divine. The founder of this cosmetics brand, Roslyn D. Johnson is affectionately called Diva Divine or Diva. As a teenager, her mentor, Vicki Hoshing said that she “divinely ordained with a lot of talents”. Since then, Roslyn, who is a serial entrepreneur, has incorporated the words Diva or Divine into every project or small business she has run – Simply Divine Cake & Pies, Divine Creations, and most importantly Diva D Make Up Artistry – through which the need for Diví Cosmetics was birthed.
About the Owner

Roslyn D. Johnson is a multi-talented, goal-oriented, woman born and raised in Atlanta, GA. She explores herself and the world through the art of poetry, dance, art, vocal & rhythmic music, and of course makeup. At an early age, Diva watched her mother, Karen Cannon, make herself even more beautiful through the use of makeup. Karen, being a former Barbizon model, learned the art of applying artistic and daily wear makeup – skills that Diva watched and quickly picked up on. And just like every little girl, she played in her mother’s makeup. At the age of 14, Diva was accepted into North Atlanta School of the Performing Arts, for her vocal talents. It was there that she discovered and began to develop her skills as a makeup artist. During her matriculation, Diva played dual roles being on the stage and behind it, becoming the lead makeup artist for almost every stage play that the school produced. It was in high school that her mentor, Vikki Hoshing, told her that she was “divinely ordained with a lot of talents. So, she should be called a Diva, and never let anyone forget it!” So, this is when Roslyn’s alias was born – Diva Divine! Since her days at North Atlanta, Diva’s makeup talents have afforded her the opportunities to work with some of the top stylist in the hair industry for hair shows. Her makeup has appeared on the pages of Upscale Magazine, ABC Stylez Magazine, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Diva believes that makeup is about ministry through artistry by enhancing the beauty of the everyday woman and accentuating her already NATURAL beauty! “Everyone has a Diva within, you just have to release it!!!” (Roslyn/Diva)
